What is Neuromuscular Therapy?

NeuroMuscular Therapy is a precise and thorough examination of all soft tissues that may be responsible for myofascial pain and dysfunction, with consideration for a number of other perpetuating factors that may sustain the condition.  Many times chronic pain issues can be relieved with gental soft tissue manipulation.    These time-tested, hands-on techniques are built upon a science-based foundation and guided by clinical evidence. NMT assessments and examinations primarily address :

 · ischemia (tight tissue with reduced blood flow)

 · myofascial trigger points (hypersensitive points within muscles that give rise to referred phenomena, including pain)

 · neural entrapment (pressure on nerves by muscles and other soft tissues), and nerve compression (pressure on nerves by osseous and other bonelike tissues, such as cartilage or discs).

 · postural assessment (assessment of the position of the body)

· dysfunctional gait patterns (manner of movement when walking) · with constant consideration for many other perpetuating factors, such as hydration, nutrition, breathing patterns, and psychologic stress. NMT is highly effective for clients who present with chronic pain and is often successful in reducing or eliminating even longstanding painful conditions. Some of the techniques can also be applied to acute injuries and for post-surgical care; many help to improve performance in sport or dance and to prevent injuries due to these activities.

What is FSM?

  FSM (Frequency Specific Microcurrent)

FSM was developed by Dr. Carolyn McMakin in 1995 using frequencies passed on from an osteopath in Canada who had a practice that came with a machine made in the 1920’s. A five-year study was conducted, based upon 20,000 blood serum studies, the conclusion was made clear microcurrent can increase cellular energy(ATP) by 500% and decrease pro inflammatory hormones by 50% post treatment. The patient must be well hydrated before treatment to ensure its efficacy. Caffeine and alcohol consumption post treatment is strictly contraindicated. For more information and to see published research papers regarding this subject please visit frequencyspecific.com.

How does FSM work?

Your body seems to use the Microcurrent energy to increase its own energy production.  Our studies showed Microcurrent to increase your own cellular chemical energy (ATP) , by up to 500%.  This can allow the natural healing cycle of the body to get started faster than normal.

Microcurrent treatment is painless, increases speed of recovery, often it promotes a healing cycle in conditions that have not yet responded to other treatment.  The effects can be long lasting and the healing of the tissues more complete as well as being cost effective.

What symptoms does this treatment address?

The main goal of a Neuromuscular Therapist is to decrease stress and strain on the body as a whole to create an uptake in the vascular system (increase blood flow) and increase lymphatic drainage. When just these two systems of the body are set into motion it allows for other systems to go into auto-regulation. Compromises of the immune, endocrine, intestinal, respiratory, excretory and nervous systems can slowly start to be reduced by bringing the body as a whole back into homeostasis (balance).    FSM is a powerful tool to assist in this process. In clinics around the world it has helped hundreds of thousands of people reduce chronic inflammation and get to the root cause of why their body cannot achieve balance and therefore vitality.  FSM is especially effective at treating nerve and muscle pain, inflammation and scar tissue. There is a kind of fibromyalgia associated with spine trauma that is particularly painful and difficult to treat even with narcotics. There is one frequency combination, and only one frequency combination, that has been observed to eliminate pain in patients with this condition. It has been observed that patients who are treated within four hours of a new injury including auto accidents and surgeries have much reduced pain and a greatly accelerated healing process.

However, FSM cannot be used to diagnose any condition. The frequencies appear to have beneficial affects when used in a clinical setting as an adjunct to appropriate medical diagnosis and treatment. I will always advise you to seek traditional care from your primary care physician first.

How many treatments will I need?

That is entirely dependent on what your case requires. There is no “cookie cutter” approach to this type of therapy. Treatments do generally last 1 hour.  I want to tread carefully through your case and not feel rushed. When I deal with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue or Multiple Chemical Sensitivity cases, it’s more important to listen to how your feeling that day, address those symptoms first, then move on. If you’re seeing me due to a “weekend warrior” injury, that may only require 1-2 treatments and then just call me when you need me.

Is this treatment covered by insurance?

Currently it is not. However, I am continually doing research to find ways for this to be covered by your insurance provider. I have created a treatment protocol to address two principal areas of concern; time and money. I am always working with you to achieve the highest outcome possible for the least amount of treatment sessions.

These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA or AMA.  This product is not intented to treat, diagnose, or cure any disease.  Always seek the advice of your primary care physician first before considering integrative medical therapy care.

Are you a Chiropractor?

No, I'm not a Chiropractor. I also never perform a High Amplitude, High Velocity adjusment to the neck, nor a High Velocity Low Amplitude adjustment.

So basically, I will never do something quick and sudden to your neck or spine.
